Well, I was part of a group of 4 that worked the CA QSO Party as our club call N6NA. We were operating from my cabin at Lake Alpine, CA in Alpine County. 2 stations were utelized 1 was SSB and the other was CW. Our final score was 15,765 points. Not bad for a first attempt and working with a Windom and Hustler 5BTV. 100w was the max power we used too.
Lesson's learned!
1. We brought way to much gear! Not sure why unless it's a "Be Prepared" thing! 2. Need to work a strategy for multipliers! 3. Seal the coax and barrel connections really good! (no fun fixing in a downpour) 4. Get up a day earlier to have more set up time.
It was a real blast. We certainly will do it again next year!
